Alex Chalmers Farrier DipWCF, AWCF Qualified.

Former British Olympic Team farrier with over 30 year’s experience. Originally trained through the Household Cavalry and is employed on the Farriers Registration Council.

AWCF or the Associateship of the Worshipful Company of Farriers. Formerly this qualification was the AFCL or Associates of the Farriers Company of London. This examination is taken by those who already hold the Diploma or RSS and concentrates on therapeutic and remedial farriery. He has a more detailed knowledge of the structure and function of the legs and the causes of lameness. He is able to make a wide range of special shoes and has a full knowledge of materials such as plastics in the treatment of hoof conditions. He is willing to work on all shapes and sizes from shetlands to shires!

Alex has regularly been visiting Guernsey since the start of 2008 and now has the availability to take on more clients.
